Justin Cullen

I’ve been involved in the hospitality industry for 10 years and I’m happy to say that I still love what I do. Meeting new people, looking after them and seeing them leave contented is very enjoyable!

After playing some rugby and working for Lion Breweries, dipping my toe into the pub game was made easier with my involvement in the opening of the country’s second Speight’s Ale House in Thorndon, Wellington in 2001. Following that success my business partner Simon Hall and I opened the Ale House in Petone in 2005.

Since that time we’ve had a great time building the business and getting involved in the communities of Petone and Lower Hutt. We firmly believe that local business needs to contribute and give something back to the communities that support it. To this end, we are proud to have given our support to a number of local organisations including kindergartens, primary schools and charity organisations.

I look forward to seeing you all down at the Ale House to enjoy some real southern hospitality, taste the Pride of the South and, if you are so inclined, to enjoy a meal!
